Hello, I'm Emma!

Over the past 10 years, I've worked in various areas of digital design - starting in freelance graphic design for e-sports and most recently in UI/UX design for a fintech startup.

My focus as a designer is understanding how people use things, finding ways to make their lives easier, and leaving every product I touch in a better place than I found it.

What differentiates me as a designer?

Improvise. Adapt. Overcome

I’ve learnt to forgo the ideal design process because every situation requires a different approach. Things change half way through. Solutions turn out to be wrong. But we learn from mistakes and we keep moving forward!

Feedback is king

I never shy away from asking for feedback on my work, chat with stakeholders and eagerly welcome advice. It's very difficult to hurt my feelings!

I'm self taught and always learning

I dropped out of a Computer Engineering degree in 2006 to pursue Graphic Design on my own instead and twenty years later I have zero regrets.

In my spare time… I obsess over a K-pop group called Stray Kids (I'm seeing them live in July!), play cosy video games, read science fiction and wish I lived on a space ship, make terrible jewellery, add tv shows and movies to my 'watch later' list every time someone says something is good and I should watch it (and sometimes actually watch it), and buy more Stray Kids photocards to add to the hundreds of photocards I already have.
